WOMEN'S WEEK

AUGUST 1–6, 2026

Women's Fishing Week on Lake of the Woods

Women's Week at Grassy Narrows Lodge is a five-night, all-inclusive fishing and learning experience for women who want to build confidence, sharpen their skills and become more comfortable on the water.

This is time to fish, learn and try new things in a welcoming, supportive environment. Practical instruction with Kay Hawley is woven into the experience, giving participants opportunities to better understand the water, their equipment and the decisions that go into a day of fishing.

You'll experience fishing on Lake of the Woods while sharing the week with a deliberately limited group of women who are there to learn, enjoy the water and become more confident anglers.

MORE THAN A FISHING TRIP

Build Confidence, Learn More & Enjoy the Week

Women's Week is built around learning by doing. The goal is to help participants become more confident, more comfortable on the water and more thoughtful about the choices they make while fishing.

The week combines practical fishing education with real time on Lake of the Woods, creating a supportive environment where women can ask questions, try new techniques and learn without pressure.

Because the group is intentionally limited, the experience stays personal and gives participants more opportunity to learn, spend time together and enjoy the week as a group.

LEARN WITH KAY HAWLEY

Practical Fishing Education on the Water

Kay Hawley brings the educational side of Women’s Week to life. As an angler, educator and Camp Director, she helps participants better understand what they’re seeing on the water and how to make more confident fishing decisions.

Learning topics include reading water and structure, tackle, tools, boating basics, electronics and fishing strategy, with an emphasis on learning how to fish smarter rather than simply working harder.

Participants also spend practical time in Kay’s boat, putting those ideas to work in a real Lake of the Woods fishing environment.

Intentionally Limited Group Size

Women's Week is intentionally kept to a smaller group so the experience stays welcoming, personal and focused on learning. Fewer participants means more opportunity to ask questions, spend meaningful time on the water and get to know the other women sharing the week.

If you're traveling to Grassy Narrows for the first time, our Plan Your Trip page covers getting here, border information, fishing licenses and what to bring for your stay.
